OFFICE PRACTICES

While taking care of my mother during her illness, we saw many different healthcare providers.  We dealt with the practitioners, their staff and their offices policies.  And, I learned a lot about what really matters from a patient’s point of view.  As a result, I have changed some of my office practices to better serve you as my patients.  Some of my office practices remain the same.  My Golden Rule:  I will treat you the way I would want my mother and myself to have been treated as patients.

My Goal is to help you to regain and maintain your sense of balance and wellness through the science, philosophy and art of chiropractic, to be a partner along your journey toward optimal health.

COMMUNICATION:  Before we can even proceed along your path of wellness, we have to know where we are.  Where do we start?

Within the scope of chiropractic, I will address at minimum these four concerns:  (1) what is the matter? (2) can it be made better? (3) what will it cost? and (4) how long will it take?  In order to answer these questions accurately, it is necessary for me to get information regarding your current and past condition.  So, I will ask you questions and I will listen to what you are telling me.  You may ask questions about my questions, and I will explain.  The more accurate and complete the information you give, the better I will be able to answer the four key questions.

The answers to those four questions will give us an understanding of where we are.  This understanding is the basis for a partnership created solely for the purpose of helping you set and achieve your personal goals for health and wellness.

SETTING GOALS:  After we figure out our starting point, then we can decide where to go and how to get there.  Reaching goals requires commitments, some larger than others.  We will talk about your goals and the commitments required.  And, then you will set the goals you would like to achieve during your journey.

From time to time, we will review your progress.  You may change goals, add new ones, or keep the ones you have.  The idea is that you are in control of your journey toward wellness.

FAMILY VISITS:  If there is more than one family member in your household, then your health affects their health and vice-versa.  All members of a family household are affected by each other’s health.  The well-being of all members of the household is key to individual health.  I invite you to consider chiropractic care for your whole family.

APPOINTMENTS:  All office/home visits are by appointment only.  Please arrive within 15 minutes of your appointment time.  Once we schedule an appointment, that time is set aside only for you.  Please only schedule an appointment if you can make a commitment to be at the appointment at the scheduled time.

MISSED APPOINTMENTS:  If you miss an appointment, then we must re-evaluate your goals to decide if those goals are realistic given your current circumstances.  If you find that you need to set your priorities elsewhere, then it would be best to cancel any remaining appointments so that you can devote your attention to those other matters.  You may return to care at any time you find yourself able to make your commitments to achieving your goals for health.

PRIVACY:  My office complies with the standards of privacy governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).  You may obtain a copy of my Privacy Practices at my office or via my internet website www.livingwellchiro.com/privacy.

INSURANCE:  I no longer accept any insurance plans.  This gives patients more control over their health care, instead of the insurance companies dictating treatment.

FEE STRUCTURE:  The fee structure is based on current rates for each chiropractic procedure.  Each procedure has its own fee and will be included in the itemized statement of services, as appropriate.

PAYMENT OF FEES:  All fees are expected to be paid in full at the end of each visit unless other arrangements are made beforehand.  Accepted forms of payment are cash and check.

BARTER:  If you have skills and more time than available funds, you may barter for chiropractic services.  Please let me know what services you offer and your normal rate of charge.
